Brooks Instrument, a global manufacturer of flow and pressure measurement and control products for critical applications, and a division of ITW (A Fortune 200 Company) is seeking candidates for a Certified Welder. This position will be based out of our headquarters facility in Hatfield, PA (Suburban Philadelphia). In addition to our Pennsylvania operations, Brooks maintains manufacturing locations in, Hungary, and Korea. The Company also maintains sales offices throughout the world. Our products are used in laboratory and process applications in end markets such as: life sciences, chemicals, semiconductor, analytical instruments, nuclear, and solar cells.

Job Description

Basic Function

Perform standard and specialized welding procedures in addition to supporting manufacturing processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Set-up, clamp, and perform welds for production (tack, GTAW, GMAW, stud welding)
• Must be fully able to weld variety of materials such as 300SS, Aluminum, Hastelloy, Carbon Steels
• Determine welding technique required for performing the weld under a variety of conditions and 4 positions.
• Perform all required welding prep work and post operations such as buffing, grinding, grit blasting, etc.
• Must be able to pass PED certification testing on stud and butt plate to ISO and ASME standards.
• Weld prototype tooling and fixtures for production based on verbal direction.
• Familiar with jigs and fixturing techniques to perform required welds.
• Support company continual improvement initiatives.
• Ability to follow all safety procedures.
• Regular attendance and the ability to get along with others in a team.
• Other duties to support production as assigned.

Qualifications

Tools and Equipment

Familiarity with the following tools and machines: MIG welder, TIG welder, Stud Welder, Grit Blaster, Arbor Press, Hand Tools, Grinders, Buffing Wheels, Basic shop tooling as required.

Education and Experience

• High School graduate or equivalent required, trade school training preferred.
• 2 years experience as a professional welder
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, layouts, and follow verbal instruction.
